Introductions & brief biographies

Steven Domazet

Steven Domazet
President, Co-Owner

Steven continues the family tradition by joining his father and brother in 1999 after graduating from Johnson & Wales University with an A.S. & B.S. in Business Administration.  Prior to that, Steve worked at HMC during the summer months while in college and high school.  His first responsibilities included polishing cavities, buffing core rods, and assembly of tools.  The ability to go from administration of tool production to hands on running of high speed mills separates Steven from others at his position in our industry.

He is also a husband and father of two.  He can be found either on the sidelines of his kids’ games cheering or coaching them to victory.  Being a father is the most important job he will ever have.

Ivan Domazet

Ivan Domazet
Vice Pres., Co-Owner

Ivan began working at HMC while still attending St. Augustine Prep high school.  Luka, his father and founder of HMC, would set up a mill or lathe for him to do simple operations.  From there he learned the mechanics of how injection blow molds worked.  After completing his studies at Cabrini College in Computer Information Science, Ivan would return to spearhead our use of CAD/CAM on the shop floor.  From those early steps into 3D surfacing and machining we have grown our in-house  engineering/design department.

Originally from Vukovar, Croatia, he is proud to be “an American by choice, not by birth”.  In the early & mid 1990’s, Ivan served in the US Army and PA National Guard.   He reached the rank of E-6 before being honorably discharged.  “My time in service to this country was not particularly eventful.  Still, I felt obligated to do my part.  I’m thankful to all those who continue to keep us safe.”

Outside of work, Ivan enjoys teaching photography, playing chess, and building devices based on single board computers.  He holds the degrees of Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman and is a Certified Professional Photographer.   He is also working on improving his USCF rating.

Alex Brent

Alex Brent
Project Manager,
USA North East

Alex comes to us after 15 year of designing and overseeing construction projects across the country from New Jersey to Hawaii.  These complex projects had him overseeing budgets upwards of $15 million.  As a creative problem solver, he often had to balance the desires of the client, the needs of the builder, and the requirements of the municipality to achieve a successful project within the budget.  We are pleased to have someone so capable working with us on injection blow and extrusion blow mold tools.

After graduating from Lehigh University with a BA and Drexel University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Alex traveled extensively before returning to New Jersey.  Here in our wooded trails of central and southern NJ he can be found running and riding his bike.

Kristen has been married to Steven since 2000 and together they have two children.  She enjoys spending time with her kids and extended family, cooking & raising fresh produce in their garden.  She is also a former NCAA Volleyball player and participates in Johnson and Wales alumni matches.
