Introductions & brief biographies
William Docherty Chief Executive Officer |
William is from Glasgow Scottland but has been living in France since 1988. Since 1992 he has been working in the plastics industry. Initially as a processor for a major injection molding company. From there he moved to the mold manufacturing side of the industry. Expanding on his talent with mold startup and resolving technical issues with new product launches. Continually looking for a challenge, he obtained his Engineering Degree from CESI Nanterre in 2012. This led to him joining the team at Adop France where he has been working in business development. More particularly in Injection Blow Molding. During the first decade he increased sales year after year. He also has his hands full on the family side, “with 5 kids from 6 to 23 years old you are lucky to be dealing ‘literally’ with big and small problems at the same time, they’re all keeping me young!” |
Steven Domazet |
Steven continues the family tradition by joining his father and brother in 1999 after graduating from Johnson & Wales University with an A.S. & B.S. in Business Administration. Prior to that, Steve worked at HMC during the summer months while in college and high school. His first responsibilities included polishing cavities, buffing core rods, and assembly of tools. The ability to go from administration of tool production to hands on running of high speed mills separates Steven from others at his position in our industry. He is also a husband and father of two. He can be found either on the sidelines of his kids’ games cheering or coaching them to victory. Being a father is the most important job he will ever have. |
Ivan Domazet |
Ivan began working at HMC while still attending St. Augustine Prep high school. Luka, his father and founder of HMC, would set up a mill or lathe for him to do simple operations. From there he learned the mechanics of how injection blow molds worked. After completing his studies at Cabrini University in Computer Information Science, Ivan would return to spearhead our use of CAD/CAM on the shop floor. From those early steps into 3D surfacing and machining we have grown our in-house engineering/design department. Originally from Vukovar, Croatia, he is proud to be “an American by choice, not by birth”. In the early & mid 1990’s, Ivan served in the US Army and PA National Guard. He reached the rank of E-6 before being honorably discharged. “My time in service to this country was not particularly eventful. Still, I felt obligated to do my part. I’m thankful to all those who continue to keep us safe.” Outside of work, Ivan enjoys teaching photography, playing chess, and building devices based on single board computers. He holds the degrees of Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman and is a Certified Professional Photographer. He is also working on improving his USCF rating. |
Kristen Domazet |
Kristen joined the HMC team in 2011 as the office manager and administrative support. Besides overseeing the day to day office duties, she is responsible for LASER engraving on tool components and outside contract engraving. Kristen is a 1999 graduate of Johnson and Wales University with a B.S. in Sports facilities management. She was previously a regional director for Wentworth Property Management. Kristen has been married to Steven since 2000 and together they have two children. She enjoys spending time with her kids and extended family, cooking & raising fresh produce in their garden. She is also a former NCAA Volleyball player and participates in Johnson and Wales alumni matches. |
